About the Book
Sayyid ʿAlī al-Muwaḥid al-Abṭaḥī al-Iṣfahānī
In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
May Allāh's blessings be upon Muḥammad and his pure progeny,
And may His curse be upon their enemies until the Day of Judgment.
It is unfortunate that one might dwell on the Ziyārah of Imām al-Ḥusayn(a) at a surface-level, without delving deeper into its content and meaning; to appreciate that it is part of heavenly teachings and profound divine lessons, giving each person lessons in self-perfection and self-development. It illustrates the extent of the visitor's relationship with the visited; if he knew him and recognized his rights over him.
The Ziyārah of Imām al-Ḥusayn(a) - whatever form it may be in - serves to educate and discipline the visitor on the matter of obedience and compliance to the Prophet's Household(a). The Imām(a) has become the focal point, representing the roles of the Ahl al-Bayt(a), and through him and his divine path, his grandfather's path continues, which he was sent by Allāh with. If he had not sacrificed his life for it, he would not have achieved this eternity, greatness, and immortality.
Ziyārat ʻĀshūrāʼ - regardless of those who accept it or not - narrates the reality of two conflicting paths, one is divine and flourishing, and the other is Umayyad, demonic and destructive. The former has defeated the latter through its continuity and eternity; through its authenticity and credibility, and it destroyed the latter by exposing its infidelity, falsehood, darkness, the corruption of its foundations, the evil of its consequences and what it aims for. If we look closely into the meanings of this Ziyārah with fairness and truth, we will find it:
-
Pure teachings in divine knowledge and monotheism.
-
Submission and humility before Allāh.
-
Communication between the servant and Allāh through a divine intermediary.
-
Acknowledgment of the Wilāyah (guardianship) of this intermediary, and submission to him.
-
Absolute disassociation from the enemies of Allāh represented by the killers of the Ahl al-Bayt(a).
-
Spiritual effects and worldly blessings that the visitor (and whoever reads it) enjoys.
This is some of what is in this Ziyārah and its meaning. Despite its small size and few pages, this book was written to record the effects and blessings, both spiritual and material, resulting from reading Ziyārat ʻĀshūrāʼ habitually and continuously.
Given that the original version of this book was in Persian and some of it in Arabic. The dear brother Sheikh Ismāʻīl Galdāry al-Baḥrānī (ha) in the al-Zahrāʼ Islamic Center asked me to translate it into Arabic and correct any existing errors. So, I agreed and expressed my readiness for that, and I started the translation until it was complete by the grace of Allāh.
I found the stories narrating realistic events and real issues that are enjoyable to read and listen to, for those who believe or come with a sound heart.
I also don't blame those who don't see it that way, don't believe in them, or don't believe the Ziyārah is authentic. Instead, I ask for forgiveness for them. Everyone has their desires, guidance, and path to his Lord, through what they reach of truths and evidence.
And all praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of all worlds.
