Sayyid ʿAlī al-Muwaḥid al-Abṭaḥī al-Iṣfahānī
Jurist, Scholar, Quranic Commentator
Sayyid ʿAlī Muwaḥḥid Abṭaḥī Eṣfahānī was born in Esfahan in 1941, coming from a pious and prominent clergy family. He commenced his religious studies in the Seminary of Esfahan, studying the muqaddimāt (preliminary studies) under his father, Āyatullah Sayyid Murtaḍā Muwaḥḥid Abṭaḥī(r), and benefitted from numerous eminent teachers and scholars of Esfahan Seminary.
To further his studies and his spiritual and moral journey for perfection, he travelled to Najaf and Qom, during the time of Grand Āyatullah Sayyid Khūʾī(r) and Grand Āyatullah Sayyid Burūjurdī(r). He also studied under Grand Āyatullah Sayyid Gulpaygānī(r) and Grand Āyatullah Sayyid Muḥaqqiq Dāmād(r). Sayyid Abṭaḥī then devoted his whole life and time to propagating the holy Quran and spreading the teachings of Ahlul Bayt(as), along with religious guidance as much as he was able to.
Āyatullah Abṭaḥī authored over fifteen books on various topics, and this present book, Ziyārat ʿĀshūrāʾ and Its Remarkable Effects is one of them.
His passing during the Fātimiyyah days in 2023 adds a profound layer to his legacy, symbolising a life deeply interwoven with the spirituality and teachings he dedicated himself to sharing.
